A new "Pop Dynasty" television series to star the Jackson family will air soon on CBS. Members of the Jackson 5 will star as judges to help select a new musical "family" much the same way American Idol selects a single singer. Members of the Osmond family will appear from time to time as guest judges. Both family groups had large popularity and have had enduring careers.
Requirements for the contestant families are as follows: all groups must contain at least five male singers and at least one younger female sibling. The main, lead singer must be a cute, younger brother (like Donny Osmond or Michael Jackson). The younger female sibling must have some talent (like Janet or LaToya Jackson or Marie Osmond) or must be totally skanky. She must be willing to take off her top during the Pop Dynasty finale to air at next year's Super Bowl. The family may have at least one sexually confused member (like Michael) who has multiple legal hassles and cosmetic surgeries. Tht person must also have a clothing trademark (like one glove or purple socks). Participant families must use their real names and must be related (no fakes like The Partridge Family).
It would be an advantage to the family, says Producer Jermaine Jackson, if the lead singer and the younger sister liked different musical styles (Country and Rock and Roll, for example).
Winners will appear on the Super Bowl, receive a record contract, and then fade into obscurity like most famous singing families (like The Jetts).
