Tehran - (Ass Press): Angry Iranian nationalists have protested against the selection of a controversial drag queen to represent their country in the Eurovision Song Contest.
A cross-dressing plumber from the Isphahan region who pokes fun at middle-aged women and who is "loved by many people as a cult icon in Iran" is to sing for his country in the forthcoming contest.
But some think he is outrageous, vulgar and offensive.
Nationalist protestors retaliated at the choice of their country's Eurovision singer yesterday by holding demonstrations across the country.
"He is a grotesque stereotype of a stupid Iranian villager," said one very upset aesthete.
"This drag act could damage Iran's international reputation in the competition next month.
"Things is bad enough as it is for us without this humiliation."
