Officials from the BBC finally announced that a parsnip has been shortlisted for this year's BAFTA awards in a controversial new series in which all the parts are played by root vegetables. The series which was originally aired on Radio 4, takes the form of a Docu-soap highlighting the plight of marginalised Cockneys living in the Thames gateway.
A spokeman for the BBC said that nothing like this had been attempted since Kenneth Tynan cast Napoleon entirely with cuts of Beef and Pork at a theatre somewhere in London a while ago now.
Time Out magazine said that it was about time that root vegetables were given their own series as meat was a spent medium and the public now needed something new in which to place their misguided trust.
In the meantime, the trial continues.
