"Typecast" children's entertainers Barry and Paul Chuckle are seeking to break new markets as they announce their intent to star in a new British remake of the hit cult US show Breaking Bad.
The pair, who were thought to be enjoying their retirement on a never-ending four-wheeled bicycle tour of Bournemouth, made the announcement last week, amongst very little press exposure.
Barry Chuckle is to star as Walter White and his brother, Paul, will be starring as sidekick Jesse Pinkman.
Owing to his inability to respond to any other name, Barry's character will be renamed Barry White, while cheeky-chappy Paul insisted his character's name be changed to Willy - as he "can't resist a good nob joke".
Use of their "to me, to you" catchphrase is stipulated as a necessity in the contract and will feature at least once in every episode.
The brothers hope that their comedy skills will transfer will to the new roles. They hope to lift some of the high-tension and gloomier aspects of the show with their innate slapstick dexterity. The scene where the pair set-out to dissolve a body in a bathtub with hydrofluoric acid, for example, is one of the more gruesome scenes to receive a "bit of a lift".
Filming could begin as early as next week, depending on how long it takes the pair to fix a puncture on their bike. Their efforts thus far have resulted in completely dismantling the frame and a lot of "oh-dear, oh-dear oh-dear"s.
