Not to be outdone by the Aubrey Heartburn's 'little black number' that recently sold for nearly half a million quid, ex-Spice Girl Jerry Halliwell has put her famous union jack dress cum belt up for sale too.
Top auctioneers Christies are handling the sale as part of a pop memorabilia event. Auctioneer in charge, Michael Aspel, told The Spoof:
"We've had quite a bit of interest in this lot already on the internet and at the minute I've got a bid in the book of £12.34 and we expect to see it rocket on the day to at least £17.00. If we get two sad gits in who both want it we might even make £20.00"
The one-time newsreader who's so old that he used to read the news in a dinner suit and bow-tie then continued "There's quite a market these days for second and third-rate rate pop stars things, mainly because all the stuff the people with real talent had has now been snapped up, so as you can probably appreciate, it's in our interests to try and talk up this load of old tat"
The Spoof asked Ginger if she hadn't sold the dress once already but she told us
"Don't worry I've got a lock-up full of them and anyhow nobody'll be any the wiser as long as youse don't blab
The star lot of the show though is expected to be a cigarette butt that David Bowie threw on the floor of the Albert Hall during his Ziggy Stardust incarnation.
"It's something that I don't actually remember doing but I suppose anything's possible. I used to be off me head in them days" said the impeccably dressed laughing gnome
