Benedict Cumberbatch, the British actor best known for his roles in Sherlock, 12 Years a Slave, The Hobbit, War Horse, The Fifth Estate, Star Trek: Into Darkness, and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, has announced that there are three films to be released in 2015 in which he will not appear. Although the prolific actor did not specify which films he would not be appearing in, he assured a group of reporters today that there would be at least three, and perhaps as many as six.
Cumberbatch will also not appear in several plays, citing his waning work ethic as the primary reason, while also noting that he finds it difficult to be in more than two or three places at once. Morgan Freeman, not to be confused with Martin Freeman, Cumberbatch's friend and collaborator, could not be reached for comment, as he is currently narrating every film, television show, and commercial to be released in the foreseeable future. Why reporters wished to reach Morgan Freeman for comment remains unclear.
