An Academy Award executive (shown above) told Pharrell Williams not to wear his Smokey the Bear hat onstage.

HOLLYWOOD - Pharrell Williams was nominated for an Oscar for his song "Happy" from the movie Frozen.

Before the show started Williams was asked by an executive with the Academy Awards Show that they did not want him to wear his bent up Smokey the Bear hat while performing.

When Pharrell asked why, he was told that the powers that be just felt that it would cheapen the integrity of the show as the hat looks like John Goodman sat on it and then unsuccessfully tried to restore it to its original shape.

Pharrell said that he was going to wear his hat and if they did not like it then they could get Ellen DeGeneres to sing the song "Happy."

SIDENOTE: Pharrell Williams got his way and he wore the silly hat, but an inside source said that there are a lot of very, very unhappy Academy Award executives who have said off-the-record that (Smokey) may just have sh*t in his mess kit, as they say at the Fort Bragg Army Base in North Carolina.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
