A Harley-Davidson motorcycle donated last year to Pope Francis has sold at a Paris auction to benefit charity. Thus far, the buyer remains anonymous but it went for about four times it's worth, according to an auction house.
It's still unknown whether the pontiff ever rode the custom 2013 Dyna Super Glide that was a gift from one Willie Davidson, a retired Harley-Davidson designer and grandson of the original company's co-founder. But most say they wouldn't doubt it.
All the money will be going to charity for a hostel and a soup kitchen in Rome.
"These people do a lot with a little", the pope was quoted as saying. He also stated that he hoped others would contribute some funds even if they missed the bike."
Pope Francis stated that now that he's sold his hog, he's ready to sell his black leather jacket, his brass knuckles and bicycle chain."
"This new pope is a funny guy", stated one of the bidders.
