The Turkish version of one of the most popular cartoon series on the planet, The Simpsons, has been fined and banned on Turkish TV because they can't take a joke (Not for the first time BTW).
It seems that in one particular show the Simpsons took orders from the Devil and the Turks were offended, Effendi.
In the show Satan ordered Homer & Co to mock God (which one? Nobody knows) and the Turks took it literally. The makers of the Simpsons did attempt to explain that it was just a joke, but just at that moment, The Turkish national soccer team was losing against Germany and being the bad-loser fanatics they are; threw the apology into the Bosphorus along with their head-coach.
CNBC received a fine and were told never to send their blasphemous filth across the Atlantic towards the Bosphorus again. Thousands of Turkish Simpsons fans were last seen burning bars of the national snack, Turkish Delight, in the streets and threatened to burn down the Turkish TV centre if the Simpsons were not reinstated.
Homer was not available to comment, but was last seen chatting with a very horny gentleman in a bar in Istanbul-shit!
