London - A rollercoaster ride to the St Swithun's Day Full Moon this Friday could see the media magnate go belly-up just like the Trinity Mirror ex-proprietor.

Influential business journal the Hole-in-the-Wall Street Journal sources today questioned company accounts amid rumors of a massive great big black hole somewhere.

"Since when is an IOU from the Vatican Bank worth more than an Uncle Sam greenback, eh?" roving editor at large Dave Hakka thundered in his colon - er...column! - this morning.

"'Rupee' (as he's affectionately known) has a sackful of these promissory notes propping up his Pension Fund," Hakka continued.

"Same sort of thing happened to Robert Maxwell."

The reference comes amid revelations that Murdoch's 1998 papal gong - he got a KSG from Karol Wojtyla for keeping mum about some stuff - may have come at an exorbitant price.

The knighthood elevated media mogul Murdoch to the Pontifical Equestrian Order of St Gregory the Great - a kind of papal whorse betting syndicate 'with knobs on'.

Friday's Capricorn Full Moon is bound to be a shocker.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
