BP have announced that their leaking oil well, which has been spewing out oil into the Gulf of Mexico for the last month, is now empty.
The last of the oil trickled to the surface yesterday. It is the first time the flow has stopped since an explosion on the Deepwater Horizon rig on 20 April.
US President Barack Obama said the development was a "positive sign", but that he was still "very pissed" with BP over the mess they have made of the US shoreline.
BP executive Kent Wells (ironic) said:
"We've tried for a long time to stop the oil spilling out, but now it's stopped of its own accord. It's like the old saying about everything comes to those who wait."
