ATLANTA (FMLiveWire) - Food and fuel riots have come to the United States as local gas stations here raised a gallon of non-leaded gasoline to $200 per gallon while the price of top of the line hamburgers at McDonalds skyrocketed to $500 each.
Atlanta police announced that 37 people were dead and 243 were injured in the unprecedented food and fuel riots that took place over the weekend. Martial law has been declared throughout Atlanta and the State of Georgia by the governor to suppress further "burger riots."
Abandoned cars empty of gas blocked all traffic in downtown Atlanta, while those consumers lucky enough to obtain a Big Mac scuttled home to eat their prize unmolested or to sell it on a street corner for an even higher price. Black market burgers hit $700 and one was even sold on eBay for $5000.
In response to the riots and bloodshed, US Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke revealed that the true rate of inflation in the USA is now 50% per year and rising fast. They indicated the real inflation rate would surpass 350% by year end.
The pair of bureaucrats then unveiled their new inflationary "Bush dollars" printed by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe in denominations of $1000, $10,000, $100,000, $1,000,000 and $10,000,000.
