"Are those guys still on strike? I hadn't noticed."

CBS corporation, under the hand of media mogul Sumner Redstone, has announced it's intention to purchase content from Canada.

As the writer's strike continues to drag on, the corporation felt it had no other alternative than to purchase content developed abroad in an effort to keep it's line-up "fresh, vibrant, and up-to-date". One nameless insider speculated that it was more a case of "how many retreads of Gunsmoke and the Honeymooners can America stomach?"

First in the line-up of content from Canada comes a new psycho-reality show called 'Driving Miss Dion', an expose of the day-to-day life of Deny L'amour Dumonde, chaffeur to chantreuse Celine Dion.

Next up is 'Nor-Eastenders', a 13 part dramatic mini-series about the lives of an Inuit couple on Baffin Island and their day-to-day struggle with global warming and it's effect on local wildlife. To add a little spice to the proceedings, a local fishmonger is having an affair with the missus.

Finally, a personal choice of Sumner Redstone. In a 35-part docudrama series called 'A Vast and Inhumane Land', the story of backcountry canoe expert, Jules Villier Sturgeonsen, is followed as he makes his way alone down the 1,000 mile long Mackenzie River in search of his wallet.

"There's nothing more dehumanizing than losing one's wallet," said Mr. Redstone. "And there's nothing more compelling than trying to find it in the midst of some of the harshest conditions known to man, contrasted against some of the most stupendous scenery. I can hardly wait!"

Neither can we.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
