An inquiry into the Banking Collapse in Ireland has called a former Finance Minister to account.
Brain Mccowswaine's answer to awkward Press Questions , tended to the claim that, he and others, were acting on the information available at the time. This would imply that it's all the fault of the Advisors/Civil
Servants.
However, Ministers are paid handsomely, in Ireland's case, more than most World Leaders, including the American President, to formulate policy and take brave decisions' The 'Buck' traditionally, stopping with them; this is what justifies their excellent pay and expense packages, not to mention life- long pensions, after as little as one term in Office and even 'disappointment' payments, when ousted.
Many natives object to this smug line in Political Self - Exoneration, but shrink from complaining too loudly, in case a relation of any given former Minister may recognise them doing it....and snigger, as Ireland has a very small population and everyone knows everyone else.
