MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota - The tremendous snowstorms that have struck the United States have taken a toll on the ice cream business as noted by Durango Tucker with National Focus Magazine.
Tucker spoke with Dairy Queen spokesperson Columbus Vee and asked how the Dairy Queen franchise chain was handling the situation.
He smiled and said that traditionally the public eats less ice cream in the Winter months than they do in the Summer months just like they drink more hot chocolate in the Winter months than they do in the Summer months except of course in San Francisco.
Mr. Vee, who said he was distantly related to the 60's pop singer Bobby Vee, remarked that the Dairy Queen Menu Items Committee has come up with a gold mine of an idea.
He noted that they have invented a new Blizzard that they have named The Snowzilla Blizzard.™
Vee said that thanks to the TV ads and Internet ads the new Snowzilla Blizzard™ has just become the number one selling DQ ice cream product for the month of February.
SIDENOTE: Columbus Vee pointed out that having Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato dressed in red halter tops and white shorts in their TV ads really helped to focus attention on the new ice cream item.
