Responding to the latest incidents, I had to once again stress that political transition is the only way out of the Syrian crisis.

Speaking in Baghdad, I said That [political transition] is the only way to avoid a protracted civil war, or the collapse of the Syrian state, or an even greater flow of refugees and loss of life.

Then I went back to the hotel bedroom with my PA Lucien and we toyed with my foibles.
