You never know what is around the corner.

There was a danger that a wave of apathy would flood into Britain following the uninspiring performances of my England football team in Poland and Ukraine; while hopes were raised with Andy Murray's miraculous run to the final at Wimbledon, only for the another partial failure.

Then along came 32 year old Bradley Wiggins to win the Tour de France, although he was born in Belgium to an Australian father.

Just when you get depressed... amazing things can happen - just watch us go now!
