John Prescott, the former deputy prime minister, tweeted: "When we faced hard times every Cabinet minister would go on TV to defend policy.

Osborne sent a very junior minister. Coward!"

You see, the man who said 'Honours are not for me but the privileged' and then took one when offered, doesn't understand the Tory master-plan to appear to be humane after-all, in preparation for the next election at all!
