I'm well pleased with my meeting with Union leaders.

I said: "Some in the movement worry that Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls and I have somehow embraced the Government's austerity.

But we have not - and we will not.

By going too far and too fast with these cuts now, the Government is causing lasting damage to ordinary people, to our economy, to jobs and to living standards!"
