The screaming headline in the Mail on Sunday suggests the London Mayor is actively plotting to try and oust David Cameron as Tory leader. And there has been a separate, but potentially equally deadly conspiracy against him, according to the paper.

Poppycock and balderdash! Mark my words, Boris will not become leader of the Government or the Conservative Party while I'm alive!

He would be one joke too far for the country!
