Rossi gave us a quick preview

Shock news tonight as The Spoof learns that veteran rock legends & randy old goats, Status Quo, are branching out in a radical new direction.

Francis Rossi & Rick Parfitt told us in an exclusive interview:

"Well you see the band's been going now for 55 years and during that time we've been very successful doing what we do.

We've got legions of fans from all over the world and we feel it's time to give them something extra for their loyalty and perseverance" laughs Francis, who quite frankly for a man of his age should really get a haircut.

Arch-prankster Parfitt takes up the story:

"Well we'd been finkin' for a while, what can we do to change fings? Then it's come to me! What about a fourth chord and maybe something that doesn't sound exactly like all our other songs?"

"You have to admit that it's a pretty radical move" chimes in Rossi.

"Well of course we then had to go away to 'find ourselves' in Nepal and when we were there we found a copy of Bert Weedon's 'Play in a day' that Jimmy Page had left behind and next thing you know, we'd both learnt A minor and that was it!"

They treated our music correspondent to a preview of their latest recording but he thought it just sounded like all their others, however the Quo brothers are delighted and will take their new sound on the road next summer at a series of open-air gigs.

Make Duff's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
