My wife, a partner at Dechert; Alison Lees, partner at PwC and Charlie Hoffman, managing director at HSBC Private Bank Ltd, was judge at the Private Business Awards for 2012.

I was telling my personal protection officers about this, they thought it was good that she was achieving something and making a mint at the same time.

This thought depressed me just a little, as fair enough I am making an absolute mint... but am I achieving anything?
