Disgraced Dominique Strauss-Kahn, currently a guest of the United States government, has signed a $1 million book deal with a major American publishing company.
The former IMF head and French presidential hopeful is to write a guide book on hotels.
To be exact, on hotel maids.
A spokesman for the publishing company told us that the book will rank hotels by the services the chambermaids supply.
He said: "Have we not all been in the annoying position where we've walked around in the rain all morning, killing time so that the chambermaid has an opportunity to clean the room.
"Then we walk back in at 2.30 p.m. desperately in need of a piss and a beer, and we find that the bed has not yet been made, that the used wet towels are still lying on the bathroom floor, the washbasin is still blocked with hair and beard bristles, and the mini bar has not been restocked with cans of beer.
"All such inconveniences will be something of the past once Monsieur Strauss-Kahn's guide has hit the shelves."
The spokesman, who wishes to remain anonymous, would not confirm that DSK, as he is known by his compatriots, will also reveal in which hotels the maids will not only be there to make the bed, but will also be willing to unmake it.
The title of the guide is still to be decided.
