A elderly couple have come forward with 271 unknown Picasso sketches, drawings and paintings. Pierre Le Guennec, 71, claims he purchased the works personally from Picasso. Le Guennec was Picasso's electrician for thirty years, he worked on three of Picasso's estates. He installed a security system at another Picasso estate just before his death.
The couple had the paintings stored in their garage for years, but have decided that due to their advanced age they wanted to authenticate the art so to avoid any confusion for their relatives upon their deaths.
The Picasso estate is saying the painting were obtained illegally and are seeking an injunction to take the art away from the Le Guennecs. Police have confiscated the art pieces until the courts can sort the whole mess out.
In a related claim, Erma Klienbeck's 2nd grade art class has stepped forward to say they authored the works of art.
Picasso or 2nd graders, it's a toss up.
