The solidarity of the 33 miners has finally been broken over a contentious game of "I Spy".
After more than a month of being huddled together, trapped in a confined space, tensions have finally been unleashed over the seemingly innocuous children's game.
It is believed one miner initially raised an objection when another miner tried to introduce abstract concepts to the game to stretch out the rather limited visual objects at their disposal. When he revealed the "s" that they had unsuccessfully failed to guess was "solidaridad", Spanish for "solidarity", miners immediately turned on each other and all hell broke loose.
Feelings and grievances that had been bottled up for nearly 40 days were aired, with one particularly heated dispute regarding Fernando Zarzuela's annoying habit of singing the wrong words to La Macarena being a focus point for hostility.
The 32 Chileans then also rounded one the one Bolivian regarding a disputed offside decision in a 1983 Copa America tie between the two nations. However, affinity was quickly resumed after both discovered a mutual hatred of Uruguay.
The miners are now believed to be planning group therapy sessions to get the root of the hostilities, with a Buddy System being mooted and each person required to carve one quality they admire in each of their fellow miners into the rocks.
