"Parrot Drops Keep Falling On My Head" is a version of an old B. J. Thomas hit about raindrops, that could be sung every year in Australia as that is what happens at this time of the year.
The parrots consume some as yet unknown substance, get drunk and drop from the sky onto yards, cars, people. They also fly upside down and crooked.
"It's amazing, really", stated our reporter Tooter Day, who was visiting for the event. "I'll be bringing some great photographs back to the US and I saw some National Geographic people here, so look for that on the channel later."
The mayor of Attlesburg told Tooter that they are planning to have a yearly festival called "Parrot Drops" and take advantage of the phenomenon and even had scheduled it this year but called it off after their special guest, Jimmy Buffett and his following of 'Parrot Heads' had to cancel.
"With the Yanks oil leak problem, Buffett had to go there because he owns one of the big hotels on Pensacola Beach. He says he'll be here next year and this will give him time to advertise more while he's on tour."
"And no one knows what the parrots are eating?' Tooter asked the Mayor.
"No. Wish we did. I'd like to try a bit, myself."
