Transport Minister and former Police Minister David Campbell has resigned as Transport Minister in N.S.W. after he was caught using his taxpayer-funded car to visit a gay men's sex venue in Sydney's eastern suburbs.
Now the very straight, on the outside, Mr Campbell is accused of driving his own ministerial car to a Sydney gay sauna....formerly known as Ken's Karate Klub (or KKK) the establishment charges $22 entry.
Its website offers services for men who prefer men, including a porn lounge, sauna and spa and assures clients of discretion, well maybe a little false in it's advertising, as Mr Campbell found the holes in that assurance!
There is a very sad side to this two sided man, since 1999, Mr Campbell has campaigned strongly and successfully as a family man in his Wollongong seat of Keira. He sends constituents Christmas cards featuring his two adult children and wife, Edna, who is battling cancer.
Mr Campbell met with Premier Keneally to offer his resignation and she accepted it without hesitation, no doubt quizing him in the acts he got up to in the sauna!
In a statement issued by the Government, Mr Campbell said he apologises to his wife, family, colleagues and staff.
