In the age of global warming, cocktail slurping EU'ers have spent a hot summer and a tepid winter in search of really cold drinks. When the frosty beverage loving Europeans reach their limit with lukewarm liquids, they began clamoring for a new supplier of ice.
In a serendipitous coincidence, the icy nation of Iceland applied for membership in the EU because most of its people are tired of eating just ice with an occasional treat of white and sometimes yellow snow.
The EU has voted unanimously to allow Iceland to enter the union as long as they supply chilled drink loving Europe with lots and lots of ice cubes. Negotiations continue as to how many cubes make up a lot.
