Near Tragedy Averted

Funny story written by Bureau

A near tragedy was averted last week in Saskatoon, Saskatchwan, Canada at three o'clock in the morning when the next door neighbor ran over and rescued the occupants of a house on fire.

Landis Brownsand ran his foot through a window to get inside and help seven people to escape.

But, Brownsand says, he's certainly no hero. His Law partner, Shelia "Sugar" Kanes, woke him up when she got up to go to the bathroom and immediately saw the flames coming from the neighbor's house through the window.

"She's the hero" Brownsand told the Saskatoon Star Banner. If she hadn't had to get up and take a pee, she'd never have noticed the house being on fire."

Kanes disagreed. "It was Landis who was the hero. If he hadn't kept me drinking till I passed out, I would have been home in my own bed a long time ago. I credit Landis with everything and I do mean everything, from now till the next nine months are over. Did you get that down?"

"To tell you the truth, I probably could have pissed that fire out if there had been a fire ladder. Outa my way!"

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
