Speaking from Belgium, EEU Commissioner Flon Borquest announced that next on the EEU's agenda is a proposal to outlaw pleasure.
Borquest admitted the proposal would likely prove contentious in countries which are not serious about life, ‘but here in Belgium we expect support."
Countries such as Spain and Italy will never be reined in sufficiently without such strictures, he continued. "They eat very late in Spain, and take naps all afternoon. Italians sit around and do nothing, and please, do not get me talking about the French."
Borquest said he expected support from Germans and a whole host of smaller, less important Eastern European countries.
"We're serious here in Belgium, we eat eels on sticks for lunch so we can get right back to work. Sometimes," he shook his head, "you get the sense that the rest of Europe just doesn't understand the point of life."
