Praia da Iluzion, Portugal - (Rotters): Gerry and Kate McCann have been asked to return to the Vatican to take part in a large-scale re-enactment of their meeting with the Pope last year.
Lawyers acting for the couple have met with Algarve police and the Papal carabineri who requested that they return to St Peter's in Rome.
A spokesman for the Rothley doctors said today:
"We don't know yet if it will be done behind closed doors or as a typical BBC Crimebotch-style reconstruction to generate new leads.
"We are negotiating the re-enactment contents, purpose and list of suggested participating actors.
"The Vatican insists that their original choice of Charlton Heston to play the role of Pope Ratzinger is not replaced with some lampoon-image low-budget twerp like Steve Martin or Leslie Nielsen."
Clarence House Mitchell is 69.
