Baghdad, Iraq (FP) - Representatives from the US and Iran drank tea and exchanged anything but smiles in the Iraqi capital this past weekend.

The US charged Iran with arming the growing insurgency in Iraq and has captured several Iranian nationals inside the Iraqi boarder.

Iran charged the United States with aiding anti-government spies and pushing the "velvet revolution" using intellectuals to sabotage the current Iranian government.

"It is not clear what both sides have to gain from these talks." John Whitefish, a political analyst, reported. "The possible reasons for these talks are really endless. I can't figure out if the US is trying to build a case for war with Iran by showing that even discussions, where the US hurls expletives for hours at the Iranian representatives, has even failed. Iran, on the other hand, really surprised me with the offer to train the Iraqi military, but the US should be very careful how they let Iran proceed with this offer."

At one point during the meeting, the discussion got so heated that mimes were brought in on both sides to translate the exchanges between the two nations. The Iranian mime gestured at his crotch and motioned a salute with his other hand which really set off the US mime that countered by outlining a mushroom cloud with his fingers. The mimes then dove across the long rectangular tables at each other and were removed. The meeting soon broke up after the mime's exchange.
