Just some of the bones removed from the Queen Mother's throat

A fish bone that caused the Queen Mother so much trouble in May 1993 will come up for auction at Sotheby's London this summer.

The fish bone which was lodged in the Queen Mothers throat while on a visit to Balmoral was kept by a male nurse who attended to her during her traumatic stay in hospital.

"Every time I look at the bone I have to smile" he told our Royal reporter in a secluded London basement just off Soho. "I asked her if she would allow me to keep the bone as a keep sake, she smiled at me, took my hand and told me I could keep it if I wished. Oh how we laughed when I told her it wasn't a wishbone but merely a small fish bone".

He went on "The Queen Mother also let me keep her old hip after having her hip replacement operation, I didn't put that up for auction, I thought that might be in bad taste."

He told our reporter that he had the hip framed then hung it over his fire place in the living room. "It's quite a talking point; People don't believe me when I tell them what it is, not many people can say they have a royal hip over the mantelpiece".

This summer's fish bone auction is bound to bring a big interest from aboard, Especially from America where the English Royal family are seen as a cheap novelty.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
