Saddam Hussain was captured by US Forces after they raided a suspect location near Tower Bridge in London.
Acting on intelligence from a number of sources, which included Channel 4 and Sky One, Special Forces raided a suspect Perspex Box dangling from a crane. Inside they found a dishevelled man who was claiming to be Saddam Hussain.
"I found his struggle in the box to be inspiring," said one hapless and hopeless passer-by.
The Perspex Box illusion was not the first by Saddam Hussain. In 1991 he made 5,000 Kurds simply disappear. A similar trick was carried out on chemical and biological warheads just a few months ago.
Critics have claimed his illusions are tacky and over-hyped. Magic expert Jimmy McWand said, "Saddam's magic is primitive and only fools society's idiots: Texans and public schoolboys, for example.
"Saddam's stunts do not make him a magician. He's nothing more than a tyrannical dictator responsible for over a million deaths. You need more qualifications than that before you can be ordained into the Magic Circle, that's for sure"
In related news, David Blaine announced he was to start a legal action - "surely stealing my idea is tantamount to a serious war crime" proclaimed the egomaniac.
