Saddam Hussein was hanged to death two days ago. The execution was video taped in HD and standard Def, filmed, vid phone recorded and still image captured.
The question now is, how much is too much to show the public? T.V. executives are pondering the moral dilemma of how much of a hanging is in good taste. Just where is the line drawn in execution broadcast etiquette.
Advertising and promotional executives are pressuring the networks to do a special of the week spectacular with dancing girls and Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie as hostesses, featuring the hanging as the climax to the festivities.
Networks are hesitant to exploit such sensational subjects since the negative backlash from the recent O.J. Simpson special and book release.
Television Executives, not really known for their moral fortitude puzzled over this subjective issue then settled on Martha Stewart and Jerry Springer as a moral moderators.
Martha was chosen for her level headed approach to etiquette and being, the voice of reason in an unreasonable situation.
Jerry Springer was chosen for the exact opposite.
Fortunately, The Drudge Report settled this issue by showing the hanging in it's entirety.
END OF STORY!!! Thing is you can't write it stupider than it really unfolds.
