LONDON - Freelance humorist "Breeze" is in rehab for obsessive-compulsive disorder after writing dozens of satirical articles featuring "Uri Geller's penis."
Geller, an Israeli mentalist who says he can bend spoons without touching them, had no immediate comment.
Breeze's editor at The Spoof web site, Bob Brogan, said the freelancer was at a clinic in Cornwall, finger painting, weaving baskets, meditating, and taking the country air.
Brogan said Breeze is rereading Ian Fleming's Dr. No., focusing on the chapter in which Secret Sevice chief "M" forces agent James Bond to give up his Baretta .25 automatic, calling it a "lady's gun." The quartermaster, Maj. Boothroyd, issues Bond with a more powerful Walther PPK.
"The idea is to get Breeze thinking about the phallic symbol -- for instance "Uri Geller's Uzi"-- rather than the phallus as such. We are confident Breeze will recover fully," Brogan said.
