Vladimere Putin said in an interview he thought the members of the punk band, Pussy Riot, should be taught a lesson for their protest display in Russia's main Orthodox church.
Some of the punishments Putin would recommend included, the rack, Judas Chair and the Spanish donkey. None of these barbaric torture devices have seen the light of day in centuries but Putin felt they would be appropiate in this instance.
Putin says he is not insulted by the protest Pussy Riot displayed but rather really hates punk rock and punk rockers.
Putin is not the only punk rock hater in Russia, it seems the judge , Marina Sirovaya, is not a real big fan either.
After a trial where the she spent most of her time in chambers deciding if the trial should be broadcast on the internet and other considerations. The judge came to the conclusion the girls should be sentenced to 2 years for hooliganism.
The girls will be serving their time in a prison where it is predominately Russian orthodox prisoners.
Russian orthodox prisoners are not known for their understanding, charitable and forgiving ways.
It is feared the members of Pussy Riot lives are in serious danger.
No matter what the ultimate outcome is, the members of Pussy Riot got the entire worlds media to say Pussy over and over again with impunity.
