CARACAS, VENEZUELA -- President Hugo Chavez today approved construction of the controversial "Che Guevara Disneyland," a $500 million entertainment facility that will include a special Guerrilla Land in addition to Disney's more typical facilities such as Frontierland and Tomorrowland.
Chavez denied reports that Guerrilla Land will include a real training facility for Al Quaeda bombers. "This is big baloney put out by the capitalist rulers in America," the President of Venezuela told a news conference at the Caracas Hilton. "It is true that certain ride ticket holders will be asked to train with AK-47s, but this is part of the guerrilla experience, not a plot."
A new hotel planned for Guerrilla Land originally would have had guests carve out their own rooms in a nearby bamboo jungle. Experiments carried out just prior to the facility's approval included several machete accidents, however, and this part of the lodging program is currently under review.
