MUSCAT, Oman--The two American hikers, Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal, landed in Oman after being freed by Iran and were taken immediately into custody. Reason: they had neglected to procure Omanian visas.
Oman Minister of Immigration, Yousef Ali, stated in a news conference, "You must go through the proper channels to enter the Sultanate of Oman. We may only be a country the size of Kansas, but we have laws."
Oman is expected to demand an even higher price tag than the $1 million which Iran required for the hikers' release. It is unclear, however, whether or not they will insist that pole dancers deliver the money.
