The Tokyo Rose Society of Tokyo Japan announced today that Congressman Eric Cantor of Virginia would be receiving their annual award. The award has been given each year since 1941 to the American that has done the most to betray their country.
"We have based our decision," said the spokesman, "on the fact Mr. Cantor is selling US treasury bonds short thus betting that America will fail. We applaud his decision and only regret that Mr. Cantor was not in the US Congress prior to December 7, 1941. It sure could have saved us all a lot of trouble."
The award ceremony will be held at the site of the USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor where 1177 American sailors were killed.
Congressman Cantor has stated he is honored and plans to attend the ceremony unless it conflicts with the ceremony in London where he is to receive the annual Benedict Arnold Award.
