Los Angeles - (Airbags): Just what's wrong with the people of Sunset Boulevard that a man, dead at the wheel of his car, goes unnoticed for three whole days?
"It's not like he, er, died from boredom in a traffic jam," a LAPD patrolman admitted after Easy Rider star Peter Fonda reported the corpse on a street in the Pacific Palisades area.
The unidentified body was described today as a suicide, probably dead since Sunday.
City pathology sources have yet to release the cause of death, rumored to be 'at least one gunshot wound' to the head.
"Of course, the suicide theory might begin to fall apart if a second bullet hole is found," morticians have explained.
"We only know of one fully certified suicide who died from multiple gunshot wounds - at that was Enron executive Clifford E Baxter."
Fatality statisticians might point out that the suicide of Vince Foster, former Clinton partner at the Rose Law Firm in Little Rock, Arkansas, is a similar anomaly to Baxter's.
A police statement on the ID of the Sunset Boulevard body is expected shortly.
