WASHINGTON, DC - White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs announced today that all federal government employees will be given today off to recover from the Hurricane Earl threat.
"The magnitude of the threat caused grave concern for our family of federal employees. Many government 'workers' were stressed to the point where they were calling in sick. Although Hurricane Earl did not amount to what many government officials were hoping for, this action will enable our payroll recipients to continue to do what they do best."
"Additionally, federal employees who have not recovered from the hurricane threat will be given up to three additional days off, after the four-day weekend." said Gibbs.
