Washington, Wednesday. US President, Barack Obama, has at last been officially informed that last week he won the La Belle Pizza Prize, not the Nobel Peace Prize as he was led to believe.

Confusion reigned as every man and his dog (and even the Prez himself) knew that Obama was never in the hunt to win the European gong. So when the Managing Director of La Belle Pizzas, Ed Shottenbury, announced to a school of press reporters that Obama had won THAT award there was a collective sigh of relief.

The La Belle Pizza Prize is awarded to the consumer who has eaten the most product in any calendar month. The month of September was deemed to have been won by the occupant of Pennsylvania Avenue Washington DC.

Mr Shottenbury added that the winner will collect 50 pizza vouchers and a autographed photo of the Managing Director. President Obama has so far not commented on the award but a statement is due any hour now.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
