Following on the announcement that President Barack Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize, for which he was nominated only 12 days after his inauguration, Time Magazine has proclaimed Mr. Obama to be it's "Person of the 21st Century."
The Managing Editor of Time magazine, Beverly Starstruck, said that although it may seem unusual to make such a declaration when there are more than 90 years left in the 21st century, an "epochal figure like Barack Oabama comes along only once every couple of millenia. Would the writers of the Gospels have been jumping the gun if they made such a proclamation about Jesus?"
To accomodate this special edition, Time magazine has had to push back its scheduled cover, "Obama - Divine, or Merely a Mortal Above All Others?"
