Matt Moore, whom no one on the Bush staff can recall and neither can the former president himself, is putting out a new book that reviewers say is very embarrassing to George W. Bush.
In fact, top officials from the Bush White House are greeting the impending arrival of the latest unflattering insider account of the administration with a collective question: Who is Matt Moore?
Moore, listed as a former special assistant to the asistant to the president for speechwriting, is the author of a new book titled "Nucklar Speeches: Tales Told By An Idiot", which includes a number of embarrassing Bush anecdotes including the assertion that the former president was confused about the very concept of his own political movement.
Among the quotes are: "A president who breaks the law is a threat to the very structure of our government." "A zebra does not change it's spots", "Airplane travel is nature's way of making you look like your passport photo." and "Scratch my back right there in the middle, would you Tipper?"
All four, or at least the first three, have been quoted several times in the past as coming from former Vice President Al Gore.
According to excerpts of the book released to PQ magazine, Bush also made a highly derogatory remark about Hillary Clinton's big ass, said then presidential candidate Barack Obama "hasn't got a clue" and was uncertain about the identity of Jeff Bush.
The book is being published by Royal Crown Publishing Group and is set for a January release, although several bookstore chains say they already have it but can't put it out until PQ Magazine runs it's bit.
"This thing has the smell of Al Franken all over it", former Vice President Dick Cheney allegedly told reporters when asked about it.
He was also reported as saying, "You notice, I wasn't mentioned. That face is funny-looking enough without the buckshot!"
