LOS ANGELES, CA, USA The world was shocked today when it was revealed that 79 year old Katherine Jackson, mother of the recently deceased King of Pop Michael Jackson, has been reduced to panhandling on freeway off-ramps in Los Angeles to provide food for his three children that are temporarily in her care pending a custody hearing on August 3, 2009.
Attorneys for Jackson's estate say: "We are informed that Mrs. Jackson was also financially dependent upon Michael Jackson and that other than extremely modest social security benefits, Mrs. Jackson has no independent means of support."
Mrs. Jackson is said to have filed for Food Stamps and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families but her benefits have been denied because she is not legally her grandchildren's guardian.
Little Blanket was last seen wrestling with Bubbles, the family's pet chimp, for the last banana in the house while his older siblings scavenged in the neighbor's trash containers for edible scraps.
