Senator Erupts over Corn Silo Phallic Mistake

Funny story written by Asheville Jack

Atlanta Ga. Jim Dickerson has attended the Georgia state fair for more than forty years. In that time he says he has seen everyone from Hank Williams Sr. singing "Your Cheatin Heart" to Kelly Clarkson performing on stage. But Mr. Dickerson says he wasn't prepared for the show State Sen. Holly Smith put on during the Fourth of July festivities at this years fair.

Sitting on stage behind Governor Sunny Perdue, who had just finished a rousing speech extolling the exploits of Civil War hero Gen James Longstreet, Sen. Smith stunned the crowd when she grabbed the microphone away from the Governor, and pointing across the fairgrounds proclaimed, "What the hell is going on here?"

When heads in the crowd of several hundred turned in the direction the Senator was pointing, Jim Dickerson's could tell she was pointing to the corn silo on his farm less than half a mile away. Sen. Smith then continued, her free hand pumping back and forth, back and forth frantically in the direction of the silo, "How are we ever to teach our young children proper Southern behavior when a giant red cock is sticking up from the ground like that? Look at the that thing," she said, "all blustery red with that giant silver heady thing on top."

Later at the fair grounds infirmary, Sen. Smith blamed the whole incident on eating too many strawberries with whipped cream. Apologizing she said, "I don't know what came over me. I saw that lightning rod thing on top and I thought it was, well you know…..all of a sudden it seemed to come alive."

Mr. Dickerson, who has since been the brunt of much kidding at the hands of friends and strangers alike, noted with good humor, " Well, at least now everybody knows how to find my house."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
