The IFPI have gone lawsuit crazy after winning its case against The Pirate Bay. They are suing over 2000 Internet sites that end with "bay.com" or "bay.org" their PR spokesman, Serena Sutton-Smith, said.
When asked why auction powerhouse eBay was on the list, Ms Sutton-Smith said, There's a lot of piracy on there and there is also the ability to buy used product when we want to sell you only our newest offerings. Brand new, at full retail cost, of course.
Also on the list are www.muskokabay.org, www.laskeekbay.org, www.thunderbay.org, and miserybay.org which are known "green groups." They would rather "reuse" media by lending it to a friend rather than making them buy their own copy.
Pirates! One and all.
The entire list of Internet sites will be printed in Variety magazine on pages 6,7,8 and part of page 22.
If nothing else, with over 2000 lawsuits filed in 33 countries, the legal profession will not be closing down due to the current economic problems.
