There is breaking news this morning out of Compton, California where police just arrested Hip Hop Harry, C-Funk, and Sponge Bob Squarepants for the drive-by shooting of Barney, the purple dinosaur loved dearly by millions of children nationwide.

We rushed our reporter, KDKN's Ned Splivengates to the scene right after being tipped off by a confidential police source that the arrests were imminent.

If you remember, C-Funk, leader of the gang, "Two to the Head Club," had taken credit for the hit along with television's Hip Hop Harry. Police did not have enough evidence to arrest the duo at the time. With the addition of Sponge Bob Squarepants to the arrest, this is turning out to be a tripartite conspiracy larger than previously thought.

Officials were tight-lipped about Squarepant's involvement in the hit. However, rumors indicate that Hip Hop Harry and Sponge Bob were negotiating a deal for a new show called, "Barney's Gone, Squarepants Da Man," with C-Funk producing and directing the kids program.

As C-Funk was hustled out of his gang headquarters in handcuffs, reporter Ned Splivengates asked him if he murdered Barney. "Dig, just because I got a group named "Two to the Head Club, and Barney was killed by two bullets to the head, I's automatically guilty, see what I'm sayin'?" When told that the two motorcycle riders who shot Barney were also in custody as of late last night, and told authorities that you, Hip Hop, and Squarepants had ordered the hit, C-Funk replied, "See what I'm sayin'?"

With the arrest of C-Funk, Hip Hop Harry, and Sponge Bob, the fate of the new television series is up in the air.

As this case develops, however, we will bring you up to the minute reporting as it comes in. As we were leaving, Hip Hop Harry could be heard saying, "Dude, I'm just a TV character," as he was led away. Stay tuned.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
