In a shocking turn of events, industry insiders have confirmed today that Robert Pattinson will not reprise his role as dashing vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight movie sequel.
Pattinson had originally pulled out of another project in order to film Twilight, but has recently had a change of heart. He will go back to working on his originally scheduled film, leaving the role of Edward wide open.
Fans of the movie are sure to be outraged at Pattinson's departure. The films director is wasting no time trying to find a replacement. Several male actors are being considered for the film's lead, says the insider, but no names are being released.
Reps for Pattinson had no comment.
